S.F. Businesses Ask Judge to Stop Wage Law

As expected, the attorney for the business groups that oppose the city of Santa Fe's new minimum-wage ordinance filed a request Tuesday with state District Judge Daniel Sanchez, asking him to stay his ruling from late last month that allows the law go to into effect.

"We've asked for an expedited hearing on it," said Glenn Ellington, an attorney for New Mexicans for Free Enterprise, the Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce, three restaurants and a hotel. "Basically it's a stay pending the resolution of the appeal."
