Collectively, we've reached another milestone in the debate about Otero Mesa. The recent federal court decision regarding the acreage puts the responsibility of managing the area squarely where it should be -- back in the hands of the Bureau of Land Management. The judge has determined the BLM's Resource Management Plan for the area is thorough, and that it carefully outlines plans for mitigating potentially adverse impacts to the environment.
