Summary


The recent removal of "Pale Male" and his lovely companion Lola, the famous red-tailed hawks, from a fancy neighborhood in New York City stirred up my imagination. These are no two common birds, no sir. These birds have been made famous in a documentary and a book entitled, Red Tails in Love.

It appears that in nine years or so, Pale Male had fathered 25 chicks with different mates. It also appears that there was no city ordinance prohibiting the removal of the love birds' nest unless the nest was full of eggs or chicks.
