The Association Executives' Institute of the National Association of Realtors was held March 10-15 in the beautiful town of Vancouver, British Columbia. All in all, the trip was wonderful and as usual the AE Institute sent me home with my head filled with new knowledge and vital information to share with my board and staff. There are some 1,600 Realtor associations and boards across the United States. This year, we were invited to share the AE Institute with our counterparts in Canada, which has approximately 115 Realtor associations and boards.
The many firms active in the business in most marketplaces, the entrepreneurial spirit that is a trademark of the sales people making up the bulk of the industry, and the relative ease of entry into the real-estate business all combine to ensure a competitive atmosphere. The business has benefited over the years as these competitors have employed numerous business models, most recently as a result of the advent of the Internet.See the full content of this document
