Easement Assures Henderson House Preservation

Summary


The preservation of the Santa Fe home of a well-known artist- poet couple during the 1920s and '30s is assured, thanks to an easement signed this fall by owner Steve Northup.

The house at 555 Camino del Monte Sol was designed and built by painter William Penhallow Henderson, who moved to Santa Fe in 1916 with his wife, poet Alice Corbin. The couple came to New Mexico from the Chicago area, where Henderson taught at the Chicago Institute of Fine Arts and Corbin cofounded Poetry Magazine.
