TIERRA AMARILLA -- In the high mountains of Northern New Mexico, the aspens have shed almost all their golden leaves.

And so, as he does each year in October, Antonio Manzanares is bringing his lambs -- fattened on mountain mahogany, scrubby oak, wild yarrow and patito (pea vine) -- home from the mountains.
