So the neighborhoods still rule -- or do they? In the face of a well-financed campaign by business interests frustrated since Debbie Jaramillo won the mayoralty over their candidate a decade ago, neighborhood activists and the community at large last night kept their favorite candidates in City Hall.
Councilors Patti Bushee in District 1, Karen Heldmeyer in District 2 and Miguel Ch vez in District 3 were given four more years on the governing board. With District 3 incumbent David Coss, and the occasional swing votes of midtermers Rebecca Wurzburger in District 2, Carol Robertson Lpez in District 4 and Matthew Ortiz, also re-elected last night in District 4, no neighborhood is likely to undergo any land-use excesses for the next couple of years.See the full content of this document
