Ghost of Eccentric Englishman Haunts Taos

Summary


Arthur R. Manby of Taos was originally from England and a "remittance" man. This meant his family promised to provide him an annual income for life, provided he left the country and never returned. In plain fact, Manby was a black sheep.

What brought him to remote Taos in the first place is not exactly clear. In his early rambles, looking for an exile home, he must have heard that tiny Taos was accepting of eccentrics.
