(Hendrix died in 1970, likely of a prescription-drug overdose.)

2John Lennon: The Beatles were good. OK, so the Beatles might be the one universally enjoyed rock band out there that had albums so good they're still finding fans. Although he was responsible for bringing Yoko into the picture and breaking up the band that defined psych-rock, Lennon's assassination has been considered an international tragedy.
