Summary


I was at dinner recently with some new friends who confessed that they enjoyed reading my monthly column and said that they had beat the high-altitude challenge of living in Santa Fe. "We don't cook," they gloated, "we order all our meals in."

A few days earlier, they had dropped off a huge plate of chocolate iced brownies to thank me for cat-sitting while they traveled back East. Fearful of the temptation to eat them all, I took them into work and shared them with colleagues and customers. Time and again, delighted samplers exclaimed, "Those are the best brownies I've ever had!"
