BIG SCHOOL FOOTBALL

It's hard to say who was better: The linebacker who stopped running backs, or the running back who pushed linebackers. Martinez, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound junior, amassed 1,370 yards rushing for Los Alamos. He also found the end zone 23 times. On defense, he was one of the leading tacklers who helped Los Alamos produce an 11-1 record and a trip to a semifinal of the Class AAAA state playoffs.
