O'keeffe Work Fetches $1.4m

Summary


Georgia O'Keeffe's Canna Red and Orange sold at auction Wednesday in New York for more than $1.4 million.

The 1926 oil-on-canvas was deaccessioned by the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum to benefit its acquisitions fund. The museum said it was pleased with the price. Christie's auction house had estimated that the painting would sell for between $1.2 million and $1.8 million. The buyer was not identified.
