Land of Eccentrics

In September of 2001, the art therapist was living within blocks of the Pentagon when American Airlines' Flight 77 plowed into the building. Deeply traumatized by the tragedy and unnerved by subsequent anthrax scares and color-coded terror alerts, two months later Koenick found herself at a work-related conference in Albuquerque.
