I was recently reading that the city of Espanola is planning to introduce legislation in the Senate that would allow Espanola to get a quarter of a percent of revenues from Santa Clara's Big Rock Casino. The mayor there has estimated that the Casino has cost the town $500,000 a year to respond to emergencies at the Santa Clara casino.
According to an excellent article by Martin Salazar in the Rio Grande Sun, "each year the city averages 500 to 600 police calls to the casino, 20 fire calls and 75 to 80 requests for ambulances."See the full content of this document
