BIGGER, STRONGER, FASTER* Fans of 1980s action movies, rejoice! Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, and Hulk Hogan are all in the same film! Alas, it's a documentary about steroids in America, and they only appear in stock footage. Director Christopher Bell shows us two brothers who got into steroid use to emulate their muscle-bound heroes of the '80s, and uses them as a jumping-off point to examine the issue as a whole. Rated PG-13. 105 minutes. Regal DeVargas, Santa Fe.

(3.5 CHILES) CONTEMPT One day Paul (Michel Piccoli) and Camille (Brigitte Bardot) are madly in love. The next day, it's over. Jean Luc-Godard's autopsy of a marriage also works as a love letter to moviemaking. Bardot was probably never better; Jack Palace scores as an egotistical, ready-to-compromise-everyone producer, and German director Fritz Lang plays himself, serving as the voice of moral reason. The lengthy sequence of the breakdown in Paul and Camille's relationship, set in their apartment, is a sad beauty to behold. The score, by Georges Delerue, is hauntingly melancholy but threatens to topple the onscreen drama at times. Still, it's a gem of a picture. Not rated. 103 minutes. In French with subtitles.
