Officials Say Cougar Sightings On the Rise

Dogs in Ohkay Owingeh -- formerly San Juan Pueblo -- just north of Espanola cornered a cougar in a tree on Thursday afternoon. Pueblo officials called the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish to dart the big cat and move it safely to the mountains, according to department spokesman Marty Frentzel.

Game and Fish officials said the incident is the latest in a string of cougar sightings from Los Alamos to La Cienega.
