Earlier this week, Brooklyn (by way of Phoenix) indie rockers Miniature Tigers released Fortress, their second full-length album on Modern Art Records. The band's expanded sound -- let's call it "space pop" in the tradition of Animal Collective but with less emphasis on synths -- oozes with instrumental experimentation and psychedelic meanderings, while frontman Charlie Brand trades his heart-on-my-sleeve tone for a more upbeat lyrical approach.
