The late Will Eisner once told a friend of mine that he used too many words. Eisner reportedly advised him, "They're comics, kid. Tell the story with pikchas!"

It's good advice. Comics can get muddied by unruly dialogue and writers who can make that work are rare. With that in mind, here are three books with barely any word balloons at all.
