Summary


Henri Lambert, a feisty but enterprising Frenchman, started it all back in 1867 when he climbed down from a stagecoach, cast a quick glance over the straggling town of Cimarron, and decided his future lay on this corner of the New Mexico Territory.

It had been a long journey from his birthplace in Nantes, France, which he left in 1856 at age 12 to run away to America. On the long road to manhood, Henri learned the art of cooking, by which he made his way in the world.
