Summary


Let's take a road trip up U.S. 84/285 north of Santa Fe to two very different Northern New Mexico communities: Espanola and Los Alamos/White Rock.

The land was trod long ago by Indians, both the Pueblo people and their ancestors. Whereas Espanola was established by Spanish Conquistadors in the late 16th century and later developed by descendants of the colonists, Los Alamos was dedicated to winning World War II as the Manhattan Project produced the atom bomb in the mid-1940s. Los Alamos National Laboratory continues to maintain a vital position in the defense of the nation.
