Theater Review: 'Seduced' Is a Serious Take On Howard Hughes

Summary


In stark contrast to its traditional comedic fare, such as last year's Jake's Women, the Santa Fe High School Thespian Club presents Seduced this weekend. Senior actress Corey Mansfield calls the show "innovative in the department."

Seduced is a tragic play that retells the final days of Henry Hackamore, a character based on Howard Hughes. Pop culture has recently reintroduced Hughes -- an eccentric businessman, movie producer and developer -- with The Aviator movie, but Seduced was written by playwright Sam Shepard in 1979, just three years after Hughes death.
