Summary


Lynne Mann was out with a group of birders at Hyde Park this spring when her tour guide recognized the slurred song of the Virginia's warbler -- a bird that nests in New Mexico's pine-oak woodlands.

Bill West, the guide, described the bird -- pointed bill, gray wings, dark legs and yellowish breast patch -- and advised Mann and the group to watch for it. West then pulled out a small CD player and played a recording of the bird's call.
