Mayordomos Worry About Too Much Water

Summary


Dozens of people who live below Abiqui Reservoir are worried about something pretty weird for New Mexico in a drought: too much water.

The Army Corps of Engineers has announced plans to begin releasing up to 1,800 cubic feet per second of water from the dam to deliver compact obligations to the Rio Grande downstream. The Rio Chama has not run at that level since at least the 1990s. The river could run that high for about a month.
